JLPT N5 Kanji Chart
The JLPT N5 is the entry level of the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test, and its kanji are the first ones most learners meet: numbers, days of the week, family words and everyday verbs such as 食 and 飲. This chart gathers the roughly 80 kanji usually assigned to N5, with on'yomi and kun'yomi readings, short English meanings and stroke counts. It suits beginners who want a single sheet to pin above the desk, and teachers who need a clean handout for a first-year class. Note that the JLPT has not published an official kanji list since the test was revised in 2010, so any N5 list, including this one, is an unofficial estimate based on past exam material.
